Vendor affiliation data submission is where a designated vendor files a Financial Institutions (FI’s) Call Report in to the Central Data Repository (CDR) for the reporting periods of September 30, 2005 on forward. The vendor affiliation occurs when the vendor requests affiliation with the specified FI and the FI grants the affiliation relationship, which enables the vendor to then submit the FI’s Call Report on their behalf. Call Reports are submitted, edited, managed, and viewed through the CDR. The data submission process begins with FI’s preparation of their Call Reports utilizing a software package acquired from an FFIEC approved software vendor; data submissions received in the CDR will have a Submission Type of either Original or Resubmission with the date and time received in the CDR. Call Report submissions can occur utilizing either the user interface or the web-based services method. The user interface method is where vendor’s login to the CDR, browses for the appropriate quarters Call Report file, and upload the information into the CDR. The web-based services method is where the vendor submits the report utilizing a function in the software that communicates directly with the CDR and results in less direct interaction between the vendor and CDR.
Each time data are submitted into the CDR, edit checks are run against the data to verify its validity and quality. Upon edit checks being performed on the initial submission the vendor and FI receives notice indicating that the report has been submitted and will then receive a notification indicating that it was the Original submission and whether the report has been accepted or rejected. If a rejected status is returned the FI is required to review the returned edit checks and provide explanation or amend the data.
Amendments to Call Report data are done by the FI in the Call Report software and re-submitted by using either the user interface or web-based services methods, upon where the edit checks are re-run to verify the data’s validity and quality with a Resubmission status.
Financial Institutions/Vendors
1. Access the appropriate quarters Call Report in the vendor software.
2. Click Submit within the vendor software application.
3. Type in your CDR User Name and Password.
4. Retrieve submission e-mail notification.
5. Notifications of rejected submissions require additional attention; edit checks require either an explanation or the data needs to be amended to resolve the outstanding edit(s).
6. Notifications of accepted submissions indicate the Call Report was successfully submitted and received in the CDR.
