Data Editing
Description
Financial Institution (FI) conducts the data editing utilizing the vendor software. After completing the data submission procedures, the FI needs to check the file for any failed edits, and determine if the information submitted is correct. Using the vendor software, the FI can submit edit explanations for certain edit failures. The FI may also log onto the CDR, and upload the file using the browse function. Quality edits are acceptable if the FI provides a detailed edit explanation. All validity edit failures must be revised. See Data Management for details of revising procedures.
Submissions to the CDR are conducted using the FI’s vendor software via the web-based service or the user interface, depending upon the FI’s preference.

Web-based Editing
- Access the appropriateCall Report period in the vendor software.
- Click Submit within the vendor software application.
- Type in your CDR User Name and Password
- Review edit failures to determine if the information is accurately reported or needs to be revised.
- Run edits and receive notification stating the presence of edits without explanations. Validity edits are not accepted by the CDR, and must be revised. All additional edits require an accurate edit explanation.
- Complete the submission once all validity edits have been resolved and all other edits are explained.
- The FFIEC Call analyst assigned to each institution reviews the reports for accurate data items and edit explanations. Each FI will be contacted to provide further explanation of data or edit explanations, if needed.
- The analyst may be required to update information. See Data Management procedures for more details.
- Click on the Submit tab to reload the designated Call Report period with any revisions and edit explanations.
- Receives notification of accepted submission.
User-Interface Editing
- Go to the following url: https://CDR.FFIEC.GOV/CDR
- Click on LOGIN to access the CDR application login screen.
- Type in your User Name and Password and click on LOGIN .
- From the options across the top of the screen, select Banks & Vendors
- From the options down the left side of the screen, select Submit Call Report.
- Browse the hard drives on the computer to locate the appropriate quarters Call Report file.
- Click on the Submit tab to upload the designated quarters Call Report
- Review edit failures to determine if the information is accurately reported or needs to be revised.
- Run edit checks and receives notification stating the presence of edits without explanations. Validity edits are not accepted by the CDR, and must be revised. All additional edits require an accurate edit explanation.
- Complete the submission once all validity edits have been resolved and all other edit are explained.
- FFIEC Call analyst assigned to each institution reviews the reports for accurate data items and edit explanations. Each FI will be contacted to provide further explanation of data or edit explanations, if needed.
