Financial Institutions (FI’s) submit Call Reports through the Central Data Repository (CDR) beginning with the September 30, 2005 reporting period forward. FI’s Call Reports are submitted, edited, managed, and viewed through the CDR. The submission process begins with FIs preparing their Call Reports typically utilizing a vendor's software package. The Call Report is then submitted utilizing either the user interface or web-based services method. The user interface method is where FI logs into the CDR, browse for the appropriate quarter's Call Report file, and upload the information into the CDR. The web-based services method is where the FI submits the report utilizing a function in the software that communicates directly with the CDR and results in less direct interaction between the FI and CDR.
When data have been submitted into the CDR edit checks are run against the data to verify its validity and quality. Upon edit checks being performed, the FI receives notice indicating that the report has been submitted and will then receive a notification indicating the report has been accepted or rejected. If a rejected status is returned, the FI is required to review the returned edit checks and provide explanation, or amend the data.
Amendments to Call Report data are performed in the FI’s Call Report software and re-submitted by using either the user interface or web-based services methods, upon where the edit checks are re-run to verify the data’s validity and quality.
