Creating and Managing My Web Service Account

 

Create an Account -

 

All information with an asterisk (*) on the Create page is required.

 

·         Enter your First Name, Last Name, and Email Address. Organization is optional.

 

·         Select a Secret Question from the drop menu and provide an Answer in the textbox below.
It is important to remember the question and answer you provide, since it will be needed in the event you cannot remember your password.

 

·         Create a user name and password:

 

User Name

-    must be between 6 and 20 characters long

-    cannot contain spaces or special characters

 

Password

-    must be at least 8 characters long

-    must contain at least one of each of the following: uppercase letter, lowercase letter, a number

-    cannot contain spaces or special characters

 

·         The “Terms and Conditions” must be read and acknowledged by clicking the checkbox before any information can be Saved.

 

·         Click “Save”.

 

NOTE: You must first create your Account and it must be active before being able to use any of the managing functions described below.

If you forget your password, a link is provided to obtain a temporary password by answering your secret question.

 

 

Manage my Account -

To access your account, you must log in with your user name and password.

Descriptions of each tab follow.  If any changes are made to your Account Detail or Password, you must click “Save”.

 

Account Detail

 

Use this tab to view your current profile information and make any changes as desired.  Refer to the “Create my Account” restrictions above when making modifications.

 

Click “Generate New Token” to obtain a new, regenerated token, which will be sent to you at the email address that you provided.  The old token will no longer be valid.

 

Change Password

 

Enter and Confirm your new password following the restrictions in the Create section above.

 

Web Service Usage

 

This tab shows your total number of downloads, and dates and times for the most recent five.

 

Software Downloads

 

Two software downloads provide examples of how to create a client for downloading bulk data via the web service.  Both are in ZIP format.

 

The Project Download is an application that can be run with the free version of Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads under the product family Developer Tools.  The project contains the complete source code for a sample .NET client.

 

The Executable Download is a complete sample client compiled from the project.
